Photo and Art Contest!

Chesapeake Commons is holding a photo and art contest!

Residents may submit an original photograph or drawing of the building, or any part of the building (interior or exterior,) for a chance to win $100 off one month’s rent (September 2010), plus the winning submission will be displayed in the second floor hallway just inside the lobby!

Entrants should upload a submission onto Chesapeake Commons Apartments’ Facebook.com webpage wall (http://tinyurl.com/chesapeakecommons.) The deadline for submissions is July 31, 2010.

Fans of Chesapeake Commons’ Facebook.com webpage will act as the judges of the contest! Fans may vote by indicating that they “Like” the submission on Facebook.com. Entrants and other residents may invite others to be fans of Chesapeake Commons on Facebook.com in order to vote. The deadline for voting is August 31, 2010.

Eligibility

The photo or drawing must be an original rendering by a current resident of Chesapeake Commons Apartments. The photo or drawing may be of the whole building or any part of the building, interior or exterior. A photo may be altered with image-editing software at the entrant's discression. The entrant/resident must be listed by name on a current lease agreement in order to receive the prize. The prize will be given as a credit toward rent for September, 2010. This is a non-cash prize. No cash will be awarded in any circumstance.

Submission and Formatting

Entries should be submitted on Chesapeake Commons’ Facebook.com webpage (http://tinyurl.com/chesapeakecommons.) All entries must be in digital format or converted to digital format so that it can be posted on Chesapeake Commons’ Facebook.com webpage wall for voting. The size and format of submissions should conform to the upload requirements of Facebook.com. Chesapeake Commons is not responsible for entrants’ inability to convert a submission to proper digital format or upload a submission onto Facebook.com.

The winner must provide Chesapeake Commons a print of the winning submission suitable for framing in order to have it displayed onsite.

Deadlines

The deadline for entries is July 31, 2010 at 11:59:59PM. Any entries submitted after July 31, 2010 at 11:59:59PM will not be considered for the purposes of this contest.

The deadline for voting is August 31, 2010 at 11:59:59PM. Any votes submitted after August 31, 2010 at 11:59:59PM will not be considered for the purposes of this contest.

Ownership/Use Rights

Entries must be submitted by the original artist. Contest participants must be the sole owner of the copyright of any submission. Your submission of the photo or drawing is your guarantee that you are the author and copyright holder. In the event that ownership of any entry is contested in any manner, Chesapeake Commons retains the discretion to disqualify that entry. By entering the contest, the artist agrees to have their submission displayed on the ChesapeakeCommons.com website and Chesapeake Commons’ Facebook.com webpage without any fee or other form of compensation.

Subject Restrictions

All entries will be screened by Chesapeake Commons’ staff and may not contain any obscene, provocative, or otherwise questionable content. Chesapeake Commons retains sole discretion as to what constitutes questionable content. Photos or art containing recognizable people must be accompanied by a signed model release form. Chesapeake Commons reserves the right to delete any photo or art from its Facebook.com webpage at any time and for any reason.

Additional Terms and Conditions

Chesapeake Commons is not responsible for computer system, hardware, software, or program malfunctions or other errors, failures, or delayed computer transactions or network connections that are human or technical in nature. Furthermore, Chesapeake Commons is not responsible for: (i) lost, misdirected, misplaced, illegible, unintelligible, incomplete, or late entries or (ii) any act, failure to act, or delay regarding the transmitting or processing of entries. Chesapeake Commons reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend all or any portion of this contest without notice if factors beyond Chesapeake Commons’ control, including technical difficulties, disrupt or corrupt the fair or secure administration or operation of the contest. Chesapeake Commons is entitled to interpret these rules as needed and its decisions are final. Chesapeake Commons reserves the right to disqualify any entrant that Chesapeake Commons has reason to believe is not the original work of entrant, or does not otherwise meet the contest rules. If a winner is disqualified or determined to be ineligible, an alternate winner will be selected.

By participating in the contest, you agree to release and hold harmless Chesapeake Commons and its employees, officers, affiliates, agents, and advertising and promotional agencies from any and all damages, injuries, claims, causes of actions, or losses of any kind resulting from your participation in this contest, including infringement of intellectual property rights. Chesapeake Commons and its employees, officers, affiliates, agents, and advertising and promotional agencies assume no responsibility or liability for any damages, injuries, claims, causes of actions, or losses of any kind arising in whole or in part from this contest.
