In Baltimore, live theater productions are thriving. Just in our neighborhood alone there are numerous stages of various sizes. The Hippodrome on Eutaw Street attracts Broadway acts and is the largest theater in Baltimore with a capacity of 2,300. Centerstage Theater on Calvert Street is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Centerstage hosts a broad range of productions in 2 different performance spaces.

There are also a ton of smaller theaters that host very good actors and plays. Spotlighters Theater on St Paul Street is neat because the theater is round and the audience sits on 3 sides of the stage. The Annex Theater is on W. Franklin Street (right across the street from us.) Arena Players is also very close on McCulloh Street.

Everyman Theater is currently located on North Charles Street right next to The Charles, but will be moving to Fayette St around the corner from the Hippodrome in January 2013. The Strand Theater is a little bit further north on Charles Street. Baltimore Theater Project is on W. Preston Street.

Go outside of our neighborhood and you can find even more! Fells Point Corner Theater and Vagabond Theater are both in Fells point. The Black Cherry Puppet Theater is in SoWeBo. The Creative Alliance is in Patterson Park. If you search hard enough, you can find even more!
