Chesapeake Commons is a pet-friendly building. We understand the importance of pets in our residents’ homes and we cherish them as members of our community. We have designated an area on the property for walking dogs (the mulched area in the northeast corner of our parking lot) when you cannot find the time for a longer stroll.
There are also plenty of open green spaces near the building for taking your pets outside. Howards Park Dog Park is located right next to our building at the corner of Howard and Centre Streets. This is a great place for you to let your dog off-leash and meet other pet owners in the neighborhood! St. Mary’s Park is 4.75 acres and located one block west of Chesapeake Commons in Seton Hill on the other side of Paca Street. Mount Vernon Place, site of the Washington Monument, is located 3 blocks east of our building and also has plenty of open area. Liberty Park Dog Walk is about 5 blocks south of us (where N. Liberty and Park Streets meet W. Fayette Street) and provides another great space for dog owners to meet up.
Please note that dogs are required to be leashed at all times in the common areas of our property and they are generally required to be leashed throughout the city unless in a designated dog park.
